The Summerville Police Department's Explorer Program is open to young men and women who are interested in law enforcement and meet the following criteria:

• 14 years old and have completed the 8th grade or be age 15-20
  
• Actively enrolled in school with an overall "C" average and no failing grades or be a High School Graduate.
  
• No significant criminal history to include but not limited to DUI, Drug Charges or Crimes of Moral Turpitude.
  
• Live within 10 miles of the town of Summerville.
  
• Must be willing to attend weekly meetings, special events and other activities as needed.
  
• Ability to be a team player.
